The September 16th-17th Lunar Eclipse will fall into the watery and magenta sign of Pisces, bringing into our life the possibility of realigning ourselves to the qualities of our Soul Ray. The constellation of Pisces marks a triangular place in the heavens – a symbol of reality, a symbol of Divine Providence, signifying spiritual truth and awakening. In the astrological body associations this sign rules the feet and consequently, it is considered to highlight the idea of treading the Path and attaining the goal of spiritual revelation.
In the ancient teachings the Fish was always considered as a symbol of divinity. The Sun God was represented as feeding the multitude with two small fishes; the goddess Isis was depicted with a fish on her head; and the Indian God, Krishna, was told to be casted from the mouth of a fish in one of his incarnations. The sign of the fish was one of the earliest symbols of Christianity and Jesus himself was referred to as the Fisher of Men. As Saint Augustine expressed, the word Fish is an abbreviation of the title Jesus Christ, Son of God, Saviour, and Cross. In fact, if we join together the initial letters of the five Greek words Ἰησοῦς Χριστος Θεου Υιὸσ Σωτήρ, they will make the Greek word ΙΧΘΥΣ, meaning Fish. The association between Jesus, the Soul, and the fish symbol originates also from the features/qualities given to this star sign.

Pisces is the sign related to the death of the personality and the resurrection into the life of the soul. It could be the death of the body sometimes, or it may be that an old way of being and living, an undesirable friendship or relationship will come to an end, the devotion to some religious form of thought that has held us may reach its conclusion, and we will emerge and set our feet upon a new path. Because Pisces is esoterically associated to unredeemed past karma, these endings will be the possibility of releasing patterns that we have been carrying through many lifetimes.
The eclipse will be a very strong one and it will be supporting the emergence of the truth, whatever we haven’t dared to see or accept before. It will be an awakening truth, which could be painful, but the connection with the soul energy will give us the courage to move forward and take the plunge in the direction of the soul.
This Full Moon Eclipse will fall at 24 degrees in Pisces, conjunct the Fixed stars Markab and Sadalbari, respectively in the wing and the leg of the constellation of Pegasus. Its placement in heaven will form a strong celestial arrangement with the squaring Mars in Sagittarius, conjunct Lesath in the sting of the Scorpio constellation and the opposite Sun in Virgo, conjunct Mercury and the North Node, all supported by the influence of Jupiter in Libra.

The Sabian symbol of this degree of the Moon is described as “The power of the Soul to intervene in the personal life and to induce necessary catharses”, while the degree where we find the two Fixed Stars Sadalbari and Markab refer to the importance of truly being who we are in order to live a centred and fulfilled life.
Pegasus is the Winged Horse, born from the blood of Medusa after Perseus had cut off her head, and which, after being tamed, aided Bellerophon in his fight against the Chimera. In the legend the Chimera was killed by the melted lump of lead thrown between the jaws by Bellorophon. In the ancient Greek mythology the Chimera was a monstrous fire-breathing lion, with the head of a goat arising from its back, and a tail ending with the head of a snake. Symbolically the lion is the representation of the personality, while the goat is the seeking of nourishment in the arid places of the material illusory aspects of life, and the snake is symbolic of life changes, life force. For this reason the Chimera – daughter of Typhon (son of Gaia, the Earth, and Tartarus, the God of Hell) and Echidna, a monster half woman and half snake, living in alone in a cave – is associated to appearance, to all the illusions, nurtured by the intellect.
The two Fixed stars in the constellation of Pegasus talk about the possibility of “flying over any situation” (Chimera) and rising to Heaven.

The Winged Horse symbolizes the innate capacity for spiritualization and for inverting any illusionary matter into good. In our brain Pegasus is associated to the hippocampus (which means sea horse, as the father of Pegasus was Poseidon, the God of the Sea), the place of memory, the renewal of the mind and new coming consciousness.
The Sun, esoterically associated to the Soul, at 24 degrees in Virgo will reveal in matter the restorative qualities of the inner light and give us the ability to take any task to its ultimate completion so that the soul destiny may be fulfilled through the manifestation of our spiritual reality. Mars conjunct Lesath, squared the Moon and the Sun, will trigger this deep inner change. Mars vehicles the energy of Ray 6 of Devotion and Idealism. This is the Will to Causation, the will embodying God’s idea and providing the motive power behind the working out of the unfoldment of the Soul energy. Mars is the Higher Spiritual Will and it gives us the zeal to act into the physical body. It represents the courage to move into the realm of the soul and to manifest our true essence in the physical life. The red planet is in its most confortable position at this point in time as it is the ruler of Sagittarius on the Cardinal Cross of the Initiate, the one who can see reality as it is and live the truth of his Soul. The Fixed Star Lesath, according to the etymology of the name, is at the tip of the tail of the Scorpio constellation and right on the sting (Lesos is Greek for sting). From the esoteric point of view in Scorpio the disciple is determined to kill the little self, represented by the nine-headed Lernaean Hydra, the monster dwelling within the cavers of the mind, in order to make him learn about the meaning of resurrection.

The Kabalists associated Scorpio with the Hebrew letter Ayin and the 16th Tarot Trump La Maison Dieu, commonly known as The Tower. Ayin means Eye and refers to the Eye of God in control of cycles. It is the Divine Providence, which will manifest sudden situations or events in order to open our eyes to the truth. The Tower is associated to the Way to Damascus Experience, already described in the 9-9-9 Portal Gateways blog.
This is a time of spiritual growth and change, a time for the opening our heart, mind and inner eye to the truth of the soul. It is a time to give us the permission to be guided by our true inner essence and allow the movement and shift of consciousness to release what we no longer need in order to “fly” to a new and higher level of being.
“I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God.” – Revelation 19:11
