On the early morning of Sunday, we will experience the beginning of a new wave of energy – the Taurus New Moon cycle, started on 6th May, will end and the Gemini New Moon cycle begins.
From the personality point of view Gemini is about instability: sudden changes, waving relationships and lack of cohesion. For this reason we might experience very challenging situations and conflicts because the two twins that depict this star sign are going to face each other in order to find a new harmony within the self.

These two twins are related to the mythological twins Pollux and Castor: Pollux, the Light-aware twin, the Soul, was immortal, whereas Castor, the dark-unconscious twin, the physicality, was mortal. The first one was the son of Zeus and the other one the son of Thyndareus, king of Sparta, the city that in ancient Greece was known for its system and constitution completely focused on military training and excellence. The myth nicely describes the nature of the inner conflict that we might experience during this period of time and which is a reflection of the two poles we will feel drawn to.
Castor represents the personality, the mental, emotional, physical-behavioural patterns within ourselves, the left rational and logical brain, that lives either in the past or in the expectation of the future, the lower self who serves our instincts and fights with the world in order to achieve self-gratification through the senses and whose relationship are always self-centred. On the other side Pollux is representative of the Soul, the right brain, the fully aware one that lives in the present moment, entirely open to the unfoldment of the Divine Plan as it is meant to be for us as a Soul in order to be guided and manifest the life and purpose we are meant to live. Castor, the personality, is tossed by the wind so his movement is without an aim, while Pollux, the Soul, co-directs the wind with Spirit.
In astrology Gemini rules the 3rd House. Traditionally this house rules the rational mind and the mental processes, communication and the process of relating to others, but what we are interested here is the inner process that we are going to witness.

From the soul point of view, Gemini is about the way of developing the Rainbow Bridge (the connection between the 7 chakras or 7 colours in the body) in order to connect the Higher and the lower self, the Soul and the personality, and it is the star signs that offers us the knowledge necessary to complete the journey on the Mutable Cross (the cross created by joining together the 4 mutable signs – Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces), the cross associated to the personality, so that we can step on the cross of the aspirant and then the disciple who works towards the connection to the soul. The interesting thing of this lunation is that it will create a mutable Grand Mutable Cross in the sky. The Moon, Sun and Venus, which will all be in a tight conjunction in Gemini, will be opposite to Saturn in Sagittarius and squared to Jupiter in Virgo and Neptune in Pisces.
The Mutable Cross brings about those conditions which will produce great periods of change.
Alice Bailey calls the Mutable Cross, “The Cross of the Hidden Christ.” She says “This is the Cross of the four major energies which produce the conditioning circumstances which transform animal man into an aspirant. It is, therefore, the Cross of the personality or of the steadily developing and finally integrating human being. This takes place at first in response to circumstance and later to soul inclination.”

Gemini is the force that produces the changes needed for the evolution of the new consciousness (Soul) at any particular point in time and space. The presence of the New Moon with the Sun and Venus in this star signs offers the possibility of the resolution of duality in a fluid synthesis in order to facilitate their transmutation into unity (Spirit and matter, Soul and personality). Virgo, with Jupiter in it, is the nurturing force of substance itself, fostering and protecting the embryonic life of the soul, preparing for its manifestation or divine incarnation. The purpose of Jupiter is joining together the mind and the heart, supporting us in trusting the revelation of what we truly feel. Saturn in Sagittarius will reflect the energetic activity of the life force, which supports the integration and the alignment of the Soul and the personality. And Neptune in Pisces will assist the life expression and active appearance of the consciousness of the Soul in form.
The key point of all this process will be Venus, the esoteric ruler of Gemini (Mercury is the personality ruler), and for that reason the main theme of this New Moon will be Love and its value.

Love, real Love, is the only energy that can join together two different aspects within ourselves: we are darkness in the sense that we have unconscious aspects within us, and at the same time we are light. The main lesson is that we have to love both of them and accept that we want to be loved the way we truly are and not in the way other people want us to be. This will be enhanced by the Ray of Love/Wisdom, which pours through Gemini, lessening and waning the power of the personality whilst waxing and growing that of the soul. Our mind and our heart will experience this inner conflict, which will be reflected in our words, communication and relationships. It is time to truly Love ourselves as we are, to choose Love and to live Love because Soul is Love.
Real change can happen as we open the door to Love, to the unknown, to the sense of feeling lost but guided, to the power of the Divine hidden within us.
Relationships can no longer be driven by desires, wants and needs because these are selfish and belong to the personality. We can truly be Soul and live from that when we accept to live what we feel true in our heart and when we are open to see the other as our mirror. The invitation is to watch and look at the people in front of us, at the way we communicate and the way we feel loved. Witnessing is a way of understanding, realizing and if we feel uncomfortable we need to sit with it and decide what we are and truly feel.
Love is a magnetic force and what we see and live is what we attract and what we experience. Choose Love and it will guide you through travails that seem improbable, if not impossible, because there is always another way that the mind cannot see.
As Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad Rumi, the famous Sufi mystic poet, writes: “Under the cover of blood, love veils many rose gardens. In total faith, love tenderly guides every lover to the garden of the heart. Reason says, the world is limited in six directions, there is no way out. Love says, there is a way, and I have travelled it many times.”
Choose Love, choose yourselves, choose your Soul.
